Taking advantage of modern technology in afforestation, in the case of applicating acorn placement and using planter, the rows are not pre-selected, but the distribution of rows is controlled by a GPS-navigated robotic steering wheel mounted on the tractor. The track is saved in the tractor – system. It is a great advantage that the rows marked with an accuracy of 2.5 cm are completely straight, so that the track saved in the tractor and the straight rows do not allow the seedlings to be damaged. This year, we also started using agricultural rollers after the first Year of the afforestation. In the case of acorns placement and small seedlings , εμείς “sealed” the afforestation with a 6-meter-wide roller. The seedlings bend under the roller, and not damaged. The benefit of rolling is that the fill is compacted back and the soil surface is sealed, thus reducing evaporation.
