This convergence between biology and economics not only promises to address the most pressing problems of our time, but also ushers in a new era of possibilities for value creation and development.

Mikä on innovatiivista käytännön tapauksessa?

StartBEC is a mentoring and technological support program that provides selected companies with the necessary tools to identify, plan and resolve the technical challenges that arise throughout the process of developing and launching innovative products on the market.

AINIA puts its experience, technology and knowledge at the service of the StartBEC Community, in addition to providing legal advice, cutting-edge studies, specialized training and promotion to clients, financiers and other relevant actors.

Mitkä ovat menestystekijät ongelman ratkaisemisessa?

The program provides the 10 selected startups with a free, individualized technological mentoring and support service for 6 months that includes: the possibility of carrying out trials or pilot studies to test processes or products; carrying out innovation dynamics with experts to develop technological aspects of its business model and technological bootcamp at AINIA. Likewise, startups have a personalized technological surveillance service adapted to their area of ​​activity and support in the identification and participation in R&D&I financing opportunities.

The selected emerging companies also participate in technological missions to facilities, companies or projects highlighted in bioeconomy actions and in conferences for associated companies and AINIA clients. Lisäksi, they have the dissemination and visibility of their activity through AINIA’s communication channels.

What role does the advisor or advisory service play with the practical case?

AINIA is a technology center with more than 35 years of experience in R&D&i. An experience that it makes available to companies to boost their competitiveness, providing them with the most innovative and sustainable technological solutions in agri-food, cosmetics, pharmacy, chemistry or packaging.

To make it possible, it has state-of-the-art facilities and more than 270 professionals who work each year with 1,800 companies on 260 innovation projects.

In this case, AINIA is providing advice and mentoring to start-ups and also acting like an Innovation Support Service.
