Kāds bija risinājums/problēma?

In dairy farming, the calves are separated from their mother immediately after birth. Socially there are more and more questions about this and there are also benefits for keeping the calf with the cow for the health and welfare of the calf and cow. Tomēr, this requires adjustments to husbandry and stable systems that require investment and increase costs for the farmer. In this project, a certification system is being developed, together with the Dutch Animal Protection Service, with which soon distinctive ‘calf in the cowdairy and meat products can be marketed. The Dutch Animal Protection Service operates a certification scheme and quality brand for increased animal welfare with different levels (Better Life which is very well known in the Netherlands and which is introduced in all supermarkets. A special Module Calf to Cow will be added to this quality brand.
