Qual foi o desafio/problema abordado?

Innovation of the project – complex evaluation of nutritional factors including technological processes from influence of fertilization on yield and nutrition of grassland to the use of supplements for feed having Omega 3 acids and evaluating influence of technological process on productivity of livestock, quality of milk and reduction of production costs. The aim of the activity – convey farmers innovative technologies of management of grassland, feed preparation, and their economic assessment. These innovative technologies are based on research. Fields of research:

1. fertilization, evaluation of quality of feed

2. the use of extruded linseed for feed for dairy cows

It is the first project of demonstration tests during which five target groups consisting of farmers were formed the aim of which was sharing of experience. A mobile laboratory was used for provision of specific services. Grass was studied on farmers’ farms, the quality of grass was evaluated and recommendations on when feed should be started to cut were provided. Além disso, quality feed already produced was tested.

What were the main challenges during the innovation process?

Meteorological conditions were a challenge. The first year of the project was really rainy, drought occurred in the second year.

Knowledge awareness and exchange, Advisory, consultancy and backstopping aimed at solving complex problems, to be provided during the innovation process and based on demands of actors and the co-construction of solutions
