To bring experience with Yellow nutsedge into the discussion on how to deal with problematic non-quarantine organisms.

It requires the cooperation of all actors involved (pesquisa, cantonal agricultural extension services, agric. associações, producer organizations and farmers);

All actors agreed that the spread of these weed must be controlled.

What were the main challenges during the innovation process?

• The method of control is not very simple, It takes a combination of several control measures to achieve a good result;

• It is a very difficult plant to fight and to control;

• Many actors in the project, much need for coordination.
