Qual foi o desafio/problema abordado?

Restrictions in the feed base, which concerns roughage are the main factor limiting the production of live cattle and milk in Greater Poland. Limited land resources lead to very high rates for the lease of arable land, and thus the purchase of roughage (maize silage, silage, beet pulp) is practically unavailable and very expensive. After identifying the problem, the consortium members implemented the idea of ​​cultivating catch crops consisting of grasses and papilionaceous plants, which could be used for feed. The idea is very early sowing immediately after harvesting of winter cereals (preferably after barley in the second half of July), which provides two more swaths of autumn harvest of very good quality forage. Plants then overwinter, protecting the soil in the winter, after which another very abundant harvest is carried out in spring, followed by immediate sowing of maize in the Strip-till technology (without plowing with simultaneous sowing of fertilizers).
