What was the challenge/problem addressed?

After summarizing results of fertilization and monitoring leaching of nutrients during droughty period in 2018-2019 in five fields where a drainage system was installed, leaching of general nitrogen in regulated systems was 2.5 times lower in comparison to unregulated drainage systems. Results of research carried out in other countries were proven when yield in regulated drainage systems was about 20 per cent higher than yield in unregulated ones. Research was carried out by researchers of Vytautas Magnus University Agriculture Academy and specialists of Lithuanian Agricultural Advisory Service.

What are the success factors in solving the problem?
