What was the challenge/problem addressed?

A new integrated pest and disease control program has been designed for the cherry crop in Extremadura and Aragón, and the availability and registration of new phytosanitary products has been favored.

How did you solve the problem?

Is being carried out through the validation of new preventive of new systems for the preventive management of pests and diseases in cherry trees and the processing of application dossier for authorisation of uses

What is innovative in your practical case?

Design and develop a new integrated pest management program, and diseases in the cherry crop, in order to bring it into compliance with the Directive 2009/128/EC.

What are the success factors in solving the problem?

the project has a multidisciplinary team with resolution capacity, which makes it possible to solve problems in the field, laboratory and technical aspects

Lessons learned

It is necessary to have organization, perseverance and to hold as many team meetings as possible. All members should be in permanent contact with each other and a compilation should be made of all the work that is being done.
