What was the challenge/problem addressed?
StartBEC is the technological support program co-financed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and AINIA aimed at emerging companies in the Bioeconomy.
How did you solve the problem?
The Bioeconomy has become a key concept in the search for sustainable solutions
In a world facing environmental challenges, resource scarcity and the need to find more equitable and regenerative economic models, it has become a key concept in the search for sustainable solutions to global food, energy and environmental challenges. This convergence between biology and economics not only promises to address the most pressing problems of our time, but also ushers in a new era of possibilities for value creation and development.
What is innovative in your practical case?
StartBEC is a mentoring and technological support program that provides selected companies with the necessary tools to identify, plan and resolve the technical challenges that arise throughout the process of developing and launching innovative products on the market.
AINIA puts its experience, technology and knowledge at the service of the StartBEC Community, in addition to providing legal advice, cutting-edge studies, specialized training and promotion to clients, financiers and other relevant actors.
What are the success factors in solving the problem?
The program provides the 10 selected startups with a free, individualized technological mentoring and support service for 6 months that includes: the possibility of carrying out trials or pilot studies to test processes or products; carrying out innovation dynamics with experts to develop technological aspects of its business model and technological bootcamp at AINIA. Likewise, startups have a personalized technological surveillance service adapted to their area of activity and support in the identification and participation in R&D&I financing opportunities.
The selected emerging companies also participate in technological missions to facilities, companies or projects highlighted in bioeconomy actions and in conferences for associated companies and AINIA clients. In addition, they have the dissemination and visibility of their activity through AINIA’s communication channels.
